Every year around this time I like to reflect back on the year. My triumphs and my failures. But I also like to look forward to what may be in store for next year. So here goes.
2008 has been an amazing year because I spent all of it planning and preparing to plant Riverstone Church. I cannot believe that it has been 4 months now since we launched. It is crazy awesome. We prayed some cool prayers and believed God for impossible stuff. We bought our house and moved to Claremont. We have seen lives changed and our own life changed. God is good all the time.
In the midst of it we went through some hard stuff. Prior to selling our home we went through a time of intense trial trying to sell it and losing friends in the process. It took us over a year and looking at 70+ houses before we finally bought ours. We lived with my In-laws for 9 months, which btw, was 9 months too long. It changed us and them. It was very discouraging. But God used all of that to bring us to a wonderful place.
For the coming year I really want to refocus on my relationship with Jesus and my relationship with Lisa. I don't want to forget or lose my first and second loves. I want my fires burning brighter than ever for them in 2009. I want to pray more, play more and continue to love what I am doing. I so look forward to what God may have in store for us personally and professionally and spiritually. There is no other place on earth I would rather be than right here right now.
