It was pretty amazing. A couple ladies from my church and I went down to Hartford last night to take part in the Global Day of Prayer with over 5000 other Christians from across the state of CT. I certainly did not expect such a turn out. We all met at the new CT Convention Center. Nice place. Very big. Anyway, we got there and were ushered to seats about halfway back in the hall because the front had already filled up. They began with a kicking worship band singing familiar songs. After about fours songs the leader of the event got up to speak a bit to let us know no one was going to preach. Amazingly they stuck to their word. Pastors from all over the state led in prayers to which we responded. Then more music and more prayers. A couple of times they had us break into groups of 3 and 4 to pray for our churches and CT. It was a pretty amazing experience, but I got pretty tired because it lasted three hours. All in all it went smoothly and I plan on being there next year, God willing, with more people from the church.
