Thoughts

You know, I am still thinking about the great things that happened on Easter Sunday. We had almost 100 people in attendance. At least 3 people gave their lives to the Lord for the first time and at least 5 people rededicated their lives back to Christ. That is awesome stuff.

Then this past Sunday, (laughing to myself), things went the other way. Low attendance, seemed like we reverted. We did have a couple first time guests. It's tough sometimes being a church planter and pastor. I want to see Riverstone Church grow and do great things for God's Kingdom. But I am always having to put my motives into check. Do I want to see it grow for God or for me? And to be honest it is a mix of both.

But really, I believe the main reason things went so well on Easter was that God was given the glory. We prayed and fasted as a church like we haven't before. God was able to do more than we could do through advertising, community service projects and everything else. All those things are important but the one ingredient to a successful Sunday is the God factor.

Without God leading the way, everything we do is in vain. It is empty and hollow. We could have had a 150 show up but if no one accepted Christ, what good was it? So I thank God for what He did and what He is going to do. Let's keep praying and seeking God and asking Him to do what it is we cannot do. And in doing that, we humble our selves and Let God be God in us.

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. to him be glory in the church and in Jesus Christ throughout all generations forever and ever, Amen." Eph. 3:20-21
