God is good. All the time. That is our mantra every Sunday morning because nothing could be more true than that. If the only thing people left our church remembering was that God is good, I am completely fine with that.
God is doing a new thing in Claremont. Many prayers have gone up over the years for churches that preach the Gospel to come to Claremont. Christians have had a desire to see God move in this city. My hearts desire is to see that too. I believe God is going to move here but it will be in ways that we did not expect. It won't be the traditional, come to church and get saved way. I believe as churches begin to step out of their buildings and start serving people in the community, rather than the whims of membership, that God will break loose and do amazing things among us.
Yes, we need our places of worship. We need to gather as believers. But if that is the ultimate end to everything we do, than it is not enough. Our vision is to be "a Catalyst for spiritual renewal in Claremont and the surrounding communities". Our strategy is through simple and practical acts of service to the people of Claremont. In doing this we believe we can allow the Holy Spirit to open the hearts of the people to hear what we have to say because we have earned the right to do it. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. So we want to show how much we care through our community service projects in order to share what we know about the unending love of God and His Amazing grace.
The more people I talk with about what our church is doing the more they want to be a part of it. It is amazing the people I have talked with over the past couple of weeks. Their hearts desire to serve and be a part of something bigger than themselves. I love being on the front lines of ministry and love seeing what God is doing in the lives of people.
Most of all, I love Riverstone Church and everything it stands for. We are just getting started and the best is yet to come. Hang on for a hell of a ride people, because it is going to get nuts.
