Monday Morning Mantra

Had a great day yesterday at church. Preached a hard message. It was hard getting it together last week too. But God did His thing.

I can't believe it was snowing yesterday. At one point it was like a white out the way it was coming down. But thankfully none of it stuck. Now for that 60 degree weather they said we are supposed to get this week.

Looking forward to getting out and playing golf soon. The snow has receeded greatly on the golf course. Should be a matter of a couple weeks when I can get out there.

I'm finally going to try to get on my bike this week. The weather is supposed to warm up and that will make it good for me to go riding. This is the year I drop some weight. It has been too long, time to get into a shape that is not round.

I just finished reading through 1 & 2 Samuel. Crazy stuff that happened back then. I completely admire David for his wisdom and leadership skills. He was a smart cookie. Yeah he made some stupid mistakes but who doesn't. It just amazes me the willingness people had to lay down their lives to protect David and to follow him. They knew a good thing when they saw it. Those who opposed him had their butts handed to them on a platter. The thing is David showed mercy when mercy was needed and showed justice when justice was required. That takes wisdom.

Had a good time watching golf yesterday with my new bff ;) and whipping his butt at Nintendo Wii. Although he did whale on me in bowling. Still can't get the internet hook up to work for it though. Oh well.

Really looking forward to men's retreat in May. We have a group of guys going and it should be an excellent time together. Some of us will be playing golf at Sunday River Golf Club. That should be awesome. Can't wait.

I have to say that I love being back in my hometown and I love Riverstone Church. We are just getting started and God is doing great things. I can't wait to see what this place looks like two years from now.
