Monday Morning Mantra

Had a great service yesterday. A good crowd and the worship was great. Can't say much for my preaching but at least Jason did a good job singing. We had a girl from Valley News come and take a ton of pictures and did some asking around about what we do. We'll see what that turns into.

Going down to Manchester today. Lisa took Emma and Anna down yesterday. Going to see my buddy. He has my Christmas present with M&M's in it. Hopefully he doesn't eat them again.

Was reading Bonhoffer last night. He was writing about how Peter and Matthew when they were called by Jesus to follow him, they put down their nets and left their tax tables. They were called out of their old lives into the new one of following Christ. I was thinking how I planned on becoming a professional skateboarder when I became a Christian. It wasn't long after that God took the desire away from me to do that and called me into pastoral ministry. I left my old life behind and joined the new one I had in Christ. We are all called to leave the old behind and become the new.

Saturday I had the privelege of performing a vow renewal for my sister Ginger. It was nice with a tiny gathering in my home. We hung out and they played Wii after.

I took Emma and Anna to a daddy/daughter dance on Friday night. They had a blast. It was funny seeing all the dads standing around looking at the kids dancing. There wasn't one dad in the place who could dance with a rythm, me included. That was the first time I had been to a dance since Junior High School. Man my legs hurt. I also blew out the back of my suit pants jumping into my truck when we were leaving. Figures.

Jason and I went to the movies last night. We say Taken. Man that movie was intense. I didn't know Liam Neeson could whale on people like that. I got my quota of people getting whaled on and killed for the month. Awesome movie.
