Holloween

Lisa and I were trying to decide what we wanted to do with our kids this year with trick or treating. For years we said we were not going to do it. That decision was more out of what Holloween represented more than anything. But we feel, although we do not fully celebrate it, that our kids can at least have fun using their imaginations to dress up and go get free candy from strangers. ;)

We allow them to do the same thing everyday when they are playing so we decided that it won't be detrimental to their spiritual beings nor does it go against our personal beliefs. So I took them around the neighborhood. All three of us had a blast. I was surprised that there were not many kids out on the street. Emma and Anna cleaned up. This neighborhood is stacked with houses who want to give out candy. If the kids of Claremont knew that they would get a huge load of candy.

One of the other things that we always do for Holloween is give out baggies of candy with a cool Holloween tract in it. We make sure to fill the bag with candy. We want kids to have a safe place to come. And at the same time if we can share the love of God with them, all the better.
