Had our final pre-view service today. Everything seems to be working, but of course when launch rolls up on us, it tends to be "the best laid plans of mice and men go astray." I think if I were ever to do this again, or at least give another planter some advice, it would be two things about pre-view services:
1. Don't do more than four. Anymore than that you start to lose momentum.
2. Advertise. I had many planters tell me not to advertise for these services but the problem is if your launch team is small you are not going to get very many people coming. I think some advertisement is good. A banner, yard signs, something.
My good friends Kevin and Diane OConner showed up today from RI. That was a big boost that I needed personally. It was a surprise and joy to see them walk in. They stayed and had lunch with us and joined us for a baptism today. We had a wicked good time together. I don't know, but somehow, having them here, attending our service and coming to our home validates and makes it legitimate for me in a weird way. Definitely a huge spiritual blessing for me.
We have been busy preparing for our preview and launch services that it seems like I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off. We have so much to do and to get yet not the time to do it. Doesn't help that I have been exhausted lately and can't seem to think straight. I'm not complaining because I love this whole experience. Just explaining how I feel.
I am pretty pumped though because I didn't think we would be able to afford to send out a mailer to the community. But we ended up securing a local company to do a 10,000 mailer for us that will go out to Claremont and Newport. And it is highly affordable. That will go out on 9/5 I think. So keep your eyes peeled for it. We have some newspaper ads going out in a few days hopefully. Lots more to share but I am too tired to type anymore. I'll let you in on more stuff later.
