Happy New Year

I hope your New Years Eve was fun. We had a good time at Lisa's aunt's house. The kids had a blast playing in the snow while we were burning a bonfire.

I was thinking about the New Year and what some goals of mine would be this year. So here goes.

Some Spiritual goals:

More fasting and praying; being more consistent with the family for having a family devotions night; And taking my wife on more dates.

Physical goals:

I want to lose 50 lbs this year and really get in better shape. I plan on doing this by riding my bike around town. I might actually start flossing again and taking better care of my teeth. I want to cut out the soda and chips and chocolate. Well maybe less chocolate anyway.

Ministry Goals:

Since I have already begun this in 2007 I want to continue to move forward with planting the church in Claremont and having our public launch service for Sept. 14th. This entails gathering a launch team of approx. 50 people in order to launch the church with 200 in attendance. Since I believe the church needs to serve the community and not just focus on it's own needs, we will be planning community projects throughout the year to serve the community. My hope is that we can do one project a month as a church and once we launch and begin our home groups in 2009 that this would become a weekly thing with the home groups.

Some things I want to thank God for:

His faithfulness to us while we went through some difficult situations in our move to NH. His awesomeness in answering my prayers for the new church. We have a worship leader who is recruiting other musicians for our band. We have a sound guy who happens to be my Bro. In-Law. We have a treasurer. We have a wonderful couple who have volunteered to become my children's ministry coodinators. These positions were the ones I was praying about for the past year and God has brought them to me. Amazing. I cannot wait to see how this whole endeavor turns out.

I think with my next post I want to focus on the things that God was teaching me through the past year. Just when you thought you were past something it creeps up on you. Later gator
