Had a meeting today with a bunch of guys who have planted and are planting churches in NH and MA in movie theaters. It was a very good meeting. We discussed too many things to mention here but I do want to focus on one.
One of the guys was talking a lot about leadership development and dealing with volunteers. He was saying too many pastors focus on the "what" of ministry rather than the "why". The "what" represents tasks and the "why" represents ministry. He was saying when people get the why the what will be taken care of. As leaders we must constantly focus on sharing the why with our leaders and volunteers. That if we get focused on the what we will begin to lose the passion and the vision of the ministry. Good stuff.
