What does God want to do?

I think that is the question that really got me thinking and praying the right way concerning Claremont. I know too many people who have vision for something but it seems it all came from their heads and revolves around them. I believe a God vision revolves around God and others. Not the one who has it. I just read a statement from another blog that the Christians symbol is a towel. Meaning to serve and walk in humility. If we have a God vision then we will walk in humility and God will be exalted and others will be served.

With that I have been working on a statement to capture what I believe God wants to do in Claremont. I know God wants to us my personality, experiences and giftings to do His thing there so this statement is all of that wrapped up in what I believe God wants to do. And the mission is very simple.

This is the vision statement: To be a catalyst for cultural renewal in Claremont and the surrounding communities by becoming a welcoming church where anyone can have an encounter with God through creative worship experiences, fun learning environments, authentic relationships and purposeful acts of service.

And the mission is simply: Making outsiders insiders and insiders faithful followers of Christ.

The key to this church will be in the creativity and simplicity of serving and redeeming the culture to lead people into an amazing relationship with Christ.
