One of the things I have been doing lately is dreaming and writing about what the future of the church will look like that I will be planting. It really excites me and gives me pause at the same time. I'm excited that God has called me to this great adventure and I have to admit, at times I get visions of grandeur.
I think that is where pastoral ministry has tempered me though. I know the hardship and reality of ministry. It is a process not an event. It takes time to build. And it takes a lot of money too, which doesn't come easy here in NE. But I am still excited about what could be.
That's the part that gives me pause too. I am really the catalyst for change and the DNA of the church. If I get it wrong in the pre-launch it could be disasterous. What I did wrong in six months could take six years to fix. So with prayer and trepidation I walk forward into the mist of the future with an idea of what could be.
