Valentine

Gary Lamb's post about his wife got me thinking about posting about mine. When I met her I was a guest speaker at my buddy's church. It was Halloween, and I was teaching the youth group about something. Unbenounced to me, my buddy decided to invite his fiances best friend to meet me. They tried everything to get Lisa and I to sit with each other and talk. After that service was over my buddy asked me what I thought about Lisa. I said, she's not my type. LOL.

Anyway, I was his best man at his wedding and Lisa was a bride's maid. The wedding was in January and on the wedding day the worst snow storm of the year hit. On top of that my car broke down and my buddy promised me a ride home. After the wedding he told me I was on my own. I couldn't believe it. Lisa stepped up and offered me a ride home. It took us 2 1/2 hours to travel a one hour distance. Anyway we talked and talked.

She called me a week later and we talked some more. My mom was not happy about the phone bills that is for sure. So we basically met and married in six months. Not something I advocate for everyone. We have been married over 12 years and counting. She is the love of my life and my best friend. I would be nothing from no where without her. I thank God all the time for my wife. She is the sunbeam in my picture window of life, to steal a line from Garfield. Happy Valentines day Lisa. I love you.
