Purpose

I have become convinced more and more as time goes by that Rick Warren really hit the nail on the head with his book the Purpose Driven Church and Life. For a christian to be a healthy growing disciple, he must live his life in such a way that the five purposes are what makes it up. He must live everyday in worship of God. I'm not talking about music, which is a small part of worship, but with his heart, mind, soul and strength. Everything he is must become like everything God is. Also to have fellowship with believers. That is, to love our brothers and sisters in Christ. To prefer them over himself. Also to not just learn God's Word but to live what you know is discipleship. That is becoming like Jesus. Also mature, growing Christians serve the church in ministry. Some think ministry is doing something for the world but that is mission or evangelism. Ministry is serving the body of Christ. When we get to heaven there will be one of these purposes that we will not be able to do. That is evangelism. Earth is the only place we can do that. These five purposes, practiced in an individuals life and the life of the church will bring spiritual maturity and and growth.
